What personal data do we collect and why? We collect personal data that helps us understand and address street harassment more effectively. You share this information with us when you contact us, fill out the report form, sign up for our newsletter, or consent to cookies.

First name, email address, age & gender
We may collect your first name, email address, age, and gender. This helps us address you personally and contact you when necessary. Gender and age also play a crucial role in analysing reports, enabling us to identify patterns and adapt our campaigns to target the groups most affected by street harassment. For example, we can explore how harassment impacts men, women, and individuals of different age groups differently, allowing us to tailor our strategies for prevention and awareness. If you make a report, we collect your personal data only though step 7 of the report. This step is optional, meaning you can fill in a report without providing personal data. If you do provide your information, we may reach out to clarify your report, offer additional resources, or discuss further steps. We securely store your personal data from the report for up to 1 year, exclusively for analysis and mapping purposes. This helps us identify hotspots and trends related to street harassment. All data used in our analysis cannot be traced back to you, and your privacy is always respected.

If you have subscribed to the newsletter, your first name and email address will be saved until you decide to unsubscribe. Your experience with street harassment (what, where and when)
Your experience with street harassment remains anonymous unless you choose to provide your personal information in step 7 of the reporting form. If you skip this step, your report will be stored anonymously, and no identifiable data will be linked to it. However, if you decide to share your personal details, the following information will be associated with your name, email address, gender, and age: The date and time of the street harassment incident The type of harassment you experienced or witnessed. A brief description of what occurred. The specific location of the incident, down to the neighbourhood. We only process the data above to do our job correctly.

By processing the location, date, time and form of street harassment, we can map out trends and identify problem areas. This data helps BO Diversity advise the municipality of Breda on strategies to counter and prevent street intimidation effectively.

Your explanation of the event
When filling out the report form, we ask you for a description of the event. This explanation remains anonymous unless you provide your personal information in step 7. We use your description solely for the purposes outlined above—helping us understand and map street harassment trends. This is also processed under legitimate interest.

Suppose you consent in step 6 allowing us to use your explanation as part of campaign material, we may feature your description in social media posts, print materials, or on our website. If we use a quote for campaign material of Intimideermijniet, we ensure your anonymity by detaching personal information and using a different first name. This ensures the content cannot be traced back to you. This processing falls under marketing activities.
