First name, email address, age & gender;

We naturally want to address you personally and use the correct email address to get in touch. Gender can be important to us for analyzing the reports. For example, we look at whether there are differences between men and women in how harassment occurs. We can learn from this and adapt our campaigns and information facilities accordingly to reduce and ultimately prevent street harassment. The same goes for age. Age is relevant to determine which target groups are more affected by street intimidation.

When making a report, this personal data is only obtained with permission by Intimideermijniet if step 7 in the report form is completed. Step 7 is not mandatory, and you can also make a report without leaving personal data. If you do, we may contact you by email to answer a question, point out the options for reporting or request more information about your experience of street harassment.

We store your personal data from the report for a maximum of 1 year to investigate and analyze the reports and map street harassment annually. In these analyzes and investigations, no information can be traced back to you in any way, and we treat your data confidentially.

Your experience with street harassment (what, where and when)

Your experience with street harassment can only be associated with you if you leave your personal data in step 7. If you skip this step, your experience with street harassment will be stored anonymously, and no personal data will be processed. If you do choose to leave your personal data, the following data is linked to your first name, email address, gender and age:

-When you have experienced or seen street harassment (day and time).

-What type of street harassment you have experienced or seen.

-A brief explanation of the event.

-Where the incident took place (location, down to neighbourhood).

We only process the data above to be able to do our job correctly. Your explanation of the event

In the report form, we ask you for an explanation of the event. This is entirely anonymous unless you leave your personal data in step 7. This explanation will only be used as described above under the heading “your experience with street harassment”. Namely: to be able to do our job well and to map out street intimidation. This is called processing based on legitimate interest.

Suppose you indicate in step 6 that we may use your explanation of the event as a quote in campaign material. In that case, we will also use your explanation in a way other than for legitimate interest. We, therefore, process it to carry out marketing activities. For example, we use part of your explanation on our social media channels, print material or website. When we use a quote for campaign material of Intimideermijniet, no further personal data is linked to it, so that nothing can trace the quote back to you. We also use a different first name to keep it as anonymous as possible.
